Notes on Psalm 70

(Psa 70:1) To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance. Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O LORD.
(Psa 70:2) Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.
(Psa 70:3) Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha.
(Psa 70:4) Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified.
(Psa 70:5) But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer; O LORD, make no tarrying.

This may be one of the Psalms referring to the trouble he (David) had when King Saul sought to end his life. Whatever it was, someone or something tried to persecute and destroy him. Perhaps this is a glimpse of the coming sufferings of the Messiah or the followers of Jesus Christ.

Warnings repeatedly are given to those who oppose the word of God, to those who oppose and persecute those that bring forth God's word and to those who oppress the innocent. You will surely bear the judgment of God either in this life or in eternity. STOP if you care for your own soul. Read the back of the book of Revelations. True faithful in Christ Jesus will be the final winners in this race. The former prophets of Israel were mocked, persecuted and laughed at. If you have ever read the history of Israel you will know that their sin and rebellion against God and their failure to heed the warnings of the faithful prophets caused them to be taken into captivity, killed and their land taken by the Babylonians.

The persecution of Christians today is increasing in alarming numbers. In civilized nations it is coming in so subtle and deceptive that it seems almost as something good rather than evil. This is how persecution starts. A law is passed opposing a hate crime. Sooner or later that hate crime is against anyone who preaches against sin. The devil hates the gospel and he is trying to stop it from going forth into all the world. Those that try to silence the gospel are deceived and are actually agents of Satan himself. STOP, please or you will face the coming judgment of God. The book of Revelation warns of times to come and the final end of all evil.

In some countries it is considered a hate crime to warn of the sin of homosexuality. It is considered hate to tell them that they can be free from that sin and live a life of victory over sin and be filled with the spirit. It is considered hate to tell them that God wants them to have eternal life and be free from that sin and every other sin. In order to inherit eternal life we must all recognize that we are sinners in need of a savior. We need Jesus Christ. Sin is anything against the law of God. If we have broken the law of God, we are sinners. The law of God condemns sin and the penalty is death. God sent forth His Son to pay that penalty on our behalf. God through Jesus gives us a new heart and a new spirit which delivers us from sin and gives us the hope of eternal life. Jesus is returning to gather all those that are faithful to Him. He is coming also to bring judgment on those that rejected the gospel and persecuted those that brought forth the gospel. Judgment is coming folks.

Like in the old Testament, the enemies of David had a tragic end, the end of the enemies of the gospel is also tragic. Heed the warning of the prophets, apostles and representatives of the gospel today. Touch not the anointed of God and do His prophets no harm. The anointed of God is not just preachers, it is all those that are faithful followers of Jesus Christ. Those that are persecuting Ake Green do not know what they do. If they do not repent, their end will be tragic. If Mr. Green prays, "Father forgive them for they know not what they do," perhaps they will be spared. He did not show hate when he bravely spoke out against sin and told them how they can be free from sin. He showed love not hate. Those that hate are those that oppose the gospel. If they oppose the gospel, they are trying to stop the only way of salvation God has given to mankind. To oppose the gospel is to doom a multitude of souls to an eternity in hell. Those that do so will not escape the judgment of God. They are unknowingly agents of Satan.

2Timothy 2:24 And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient,
2Timothy 2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
2Timothy 2:26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Those who oppose the gospel and godly living are actually in bondage to the devil.

Phil 3:18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
Phil 3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

Avoid the doctrines of prosperity and the good life now while ignoring the eternal soul that can be either saved or lost. To neglect God and His word is peril.

1Thessalonians 2:14 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they have of the Jews:
1Th 2:15 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
1Th 2:16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.

Woe to those that forbid the preaching of the word of God. You become an enemy of God if you oppose those that preach the gospel and warn against sin. God tells us to go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. The gospel is the message of repentance and receiving Jesus Christ as savior from sin. We are all born into the sin nature and need a savior. All those that reach the age of accountability have sinned and need to receive Jesus Christ to be saved. To receive Jesus we must turn from sin. Homosexuality is only one sin but it is a sin that has to be renounced and forsaken in order for the homosexual to be saved. Jesus Christ has the power to save not only them but all who have sinned. Whether that sin is murder, rape, adultery, fornication, theft or just unbelief, we can be saved by faith in Jesus Christ but we must recognize that we are sinners in need of that salvation before we can be saved.

Jude 1:5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.
Jude 1:6 And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.
Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
Jude 1:8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities.

Jude warns us of what occurred in Sodom and Gomorrah. They suffered the fate of eternal fire. We have a chance to be saved and escape eternal judgment. Every time you hear the gospel, it is a chance to be saved and not suffer the same fate is they did. The gospel is not hate, it is love. It is warning all to repent and believe in Jesus Christ and they shall be saved from their sins. Jesus came to save us from sin, not destroy us. We destroy ourselves if we reject His good way and eternal life. Listen, hearken, heed and accept. Do not let another day pass by without Jesus Christ. Do not die in sin. You don't have to. You can be free. How can this message ever be called a hate crime? Please, we want all to be saved and inherit eternal life. We want all to believe. I have no motive in these articles except to save. I ask for no money. I have no ministry that asks for money. I don't want anything from anyone. I just want to see people saved and delivered from the judgment to come. I don't hate. I pay for this website myself because I love God's word and want to see others find the wonderful savior that I have found. I do not want anyone to burn in hell. I want to see you receive the gospel and have eternal life.

Rev 16:4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
Rev 16:5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.
Rev 16:6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.

This verse show the fate of those that persecute the prophets and saints of God. Saints here are faithful believers in Jesus Christ.

Rev 16:7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
Rev 16:8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
Rev 16:9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
Rev 16:10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,
Rev 16:11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

Men have become so evil here that they refuse to repent even when they knew God was judging them. This sounds so much like the attitude I hear today. People do not believe God judges sin anymore or else they do not believe in God.

To the faithful people who continue in the faith and serve God. Here is your hope.

Mat 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
Mat 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
